Snow Day Prediction For Friday 12/06/2024

Day 1 School Closing Outlook

Valid: Friday, December 6, 2024

Issued: Thursday, December 5, 2024 5:14 PM

Summary: Isolated school closures, and more likely delayed starts/"buses on paved roads only," are possible across the immediate lakeshore on Friday.

Discussion: Low chances for isolated school closures, delayed starts, or buses on paved roads only are possible Friday morning generally along the US-31 corridor. As the Winter Storm begins to weaken overnight tonight snowfall will significantly diminish in both intensity and coverage. However, an additional few inches of snowfall is expected, especially near/North of Muskegon and near of South Haven, prior to midnight this evening. All that having been said, road crews will likely have a fair amount of success improving road conditions overnight so we do not expect the morning commute Friday to be too inconvenient so snow days are not likely, though an isolated school closure or 2 is not entirely unrealistic.
